Evangelist and best-selling author Michael Youssef recently debunked common myths about heaven and highlighted important truths about life after death that he feels the church lacks understanding of. Published a book.Mr. Youssef was recently released. Heaven is waiting: anticipate your future hopes, your eternal home, your everyday reality, Clear up misconceptions about heaven.
“I find there’s a lot of confusion about the whole idea of heaven,” said the 75-year-old pastor of the Apostolic Church in Atlanta, Georgia. christian post.
“Even within the church there are people who don’t want to know about it. They don’t want to talk about it because they think it’s a bad omen. They think they’re going to die, or they actually die. But the Bible is very clear. It has a lot of teachings about heaven and its importance to our lives.”
Youssef is also a leader Leading ministriesshared that heaven requires eternal service to Christ and that this life is a “rehearsal” for eternity.
“We’re not going to sit on a cloud doing nothing. We’re going to work on it,” said Yousef, who heads Leading the Way Ministries. “We’re going to serve Jesus, and we’re going to rule and reign with Jesus. … It’s a concept that if people really understand, they’re going to start working on purifying their lives, because this is a rehearsal for the real thing. That kind of thing. There won’t be. There will be men and women and boys and girls in heaven who love Jesus. And if you reject Him here, or you’re not walking with Him here. Then I say to people, are you going to spend eternity face to face with God?
Youssef’s latest book emphasizes that heaven is not just a future reality, but a present truth that has great meaning for Christians to live here and now. He echoed the sentiments of C.S. Lewis, who argued that an interest in heaven draws a person away from earthly life, and that the most effective people in this world are those who have a heavenly heart.
“Think about it. My whole motivation for living and serving in the ministry is to be with Jesus and hear from his mouth, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” he said. Ta. “It couldn’t have been better. Heaven should be motivating us here and now. …Heaven is for us to live today. I want that message to reach the entire Christian church.” I think.”
“For people outside the church who know nothing about heaven or what happens when you die, their message is, ‘Repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and be born again.’ But for the church, and for believers, They are a burden on my heart, and they need to find out and understand what heaven is, and that will motivate them to be strong for Jesus.”
Publications of Yousef’s books include: investigation A paper published last July found that the number of Americans who believe in God, angels, heaven, hell and the devil has fallen significantly to the lowest levels recorded in the past 20 years.
