SAN FRANCISCO residents, fed up with rampant crime in the state, are revolting after a man allegedly tried to steal an expensive laptop from a woman at a small cafe.
of The incident was revealed Saturday afternoon at Sanaa Cafe on New Montgomery Street near the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
According to witnesses, as soon as the man entered the cafe, he stole the woman’s Apple MacBook laptop and attempted to flee. Video showed one man tackling him and others jumping in to help him.
“Most people want to do the right thing.”
The first man to tackle would-be thieves interviewed by A local citizen journalist who goes by the name “Frisco Live 415” on social media.
“Fortunately, within seconds everyone ran outside and I started telling people, someone with one leg, someone with the other, grabbing my arm and telling them to stop fighting and hit me. I said, ‘Just hold him down until the cops get here,”’ said Henry Flynn, a trained security guard.
“You know, they seemed to arrive pretty quickly,” he said of the police.
The suspect in the theft was later identified as 19-year-old Zachary Morris Dassey of Suisun. He was charged with grand larceny and second-degree larceny.
Some people call Flynn a hero, but he said, To Cron TV that he refused praise;
“Most people want to do the right thing. It only takes one person to really get ahead and others will follow,” he said.
Flynn, a 48-year-old fourth-generation San Francisco native, is also running for mayor as a grassroots candidate.
“I consider myself to represent the silent majority of the city, the working class that is the bread and butter of the city. What we need right now is that cafe where everyone gathers. I think it’s the same thing that happened,” he explained.
“We need that citywide,” Flynn concluded. “Everyone who is invested in the heart and soul of the city needs to come together.”
The woman said her phone screen was cracked during an argument and her laptop was nearly stolen, but the man offered to pay for repairs, but the man refused.
