At least 50 people were arrested after hundreds of anti-Israel demonstrators stormed the University of California, Irvine campus and erected barricades, the university confirmed Thursday.
The university announced that 50 people who were on campus and disrupted university operations in violation of university policy and state law have been arrested for failure to disperse and trespassing.

The University of California, Irvine could not confirm whether those arrested were students or not affiliated with the school. The university transitioned to remote operations on Thursday.

A University of California spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Wednesday that the campus descended into chaos after hundreds of protesters invaded a physical science lecture hall on the California campus and began barricading the building. .
