Hello there and welcome to the live coverage of this second T20 international. Last Saturday (which feels like a really long time ago) Heather Knight and Amy Jones rescued the cause from 11-4 to haul England to 163-6. Then Lauren Bell (three-for) and Sarah Glenn (four-for) wrapped a comfortable 53 run win in Birmingham.

That was England’s 15th T20 win over Pakistan from 16 matches and they could have – for my money – the best player in the world back in the mix tonight.

Nat Sciver-Brunt, Wisden’s most recent leading female cricketer of the year, was unavailable last week as she was having her eggs frozen with a view to having children one day.

Other than that it would be a surprise to see too many changes, both in personnel and in approach. Bell told Cricinfo this week that England will look to up the ante regarding their attacking mindset and has vowed to “attack the stumps” as a default.

It’s a T20 and anything can happen. And England’s top order collapse shows that they are fallible. But I can’t see anything other than a smooth ride for the home side. Should be good fun either way.

important events
We talk a lot about the future on Sky. What awaits you, you ask? With the World Cup being held in Bangladesh, much of England’s strategy will focus on a game plan that will work in the future. This means bowlers will target the stumps and batsmen will fight hard in the powerplay.
There was no drama in Pakistan, says Nida Dar. The visitors would have bowled first anyway.
Pakistan made three changes. Ariya is a power hitter that makes her growl even more and solidifies her middle position. Sadia’s seam and Nashra’s spin will offer something different.
Pakistan: S Ameen, Seagull Feroza, Sadaf, Muneebah, Dar (c), Aliya, Fatima, Diana, Waheedam Nashra, Sadia.
England win in toss and bat
The coin toss goes the knight’s way and she wants to settle the score. “It’s because of my family background,” she says with a shrug.
As expected, Brunt returned to the side in place of Freya Kemp. Since Brunt is not fit enough to bowl, he will not play as an all-rounder.
England: Bouchier, Wyatt, Capsey, Silver-Blunt, Knight (c), Jones, Gibson, Dean, Ecclestone, Glenn, Bell.
Confirmed: Nat Silver Blunt is warming up.
England’s batsmen will be looking to improve tonight. A quick look at the ICC ranking list reveals an imbalance within the teams.
Sophie Ecclestone tops the list, with Sarah Glenn up two places to fourth, Charlie Dean fifth and Lauren Bell four places to seventh.
However, no batter ranked in the top 10, with the highest ranking being Nat Silver-Blunt at 14th place.
Rankings don’t mean a whole lot, but they do mean at least a little bit, and this is certainly something to work on.
I should have mentioned earlier that last week’s game was Amy Jones’ 100th match for England. And she grabbed four catches and dug her team out of a hole with her bat.

Hello. Welcome to his second live T20 International coverage. Last Saturday (which feels like such a long time ago) Heather Knight and Amy Jones saved the cause of England from 11-4 to 163-6. Lauren Bell (three hits) and Sarah Glenn (four hits) then scored 53 runs in a comfortable win at Birmingham.
This was England’s 15th win in 16 T20 matches against Pakistan and they could – for my money – get the best player in the world back in their squad tonight.
Wisden’s hottest female cricketer of the year, Nat Silver-Blunt, was absent last week as she froze her eggs with the hope of having children one day.
Other than that, it would be surprising to see so many changes in both personnel and approach. Bell told Cricinfo this week that England are looking to further challenge their attacking mindset, vowing to “attack the stumps” as a default.
It’s T20 and anything can happen. And the collapse of England’s top order shows they are fallible. However, I can’t see anything other than smooth sailing for the home team. It should be fun either way.
Toss and participating teams, first ball will be delivered at 6:30pm BST.
