RFK Jr. insists he meets CNN’s criteria to join Trump, Biden on presidential debate stage: ‘I qualify’

The battle for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to appear on the presidential debate stage is not over yet, he told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on Sunday. claimed to be “in discussions” with CNN. And former President Donald Trump.

“CNN released a list of criteria for potential candidates, and we meet all of those criteria, and President Trump and President Biden cannot meet those criteria,” he said on “Sunday Morning Futures” this week. “I showed this to CNN.”

“One of the two important criteria is that all candidates have voted in enough states to win 270 electors by June 20th, and we President Trump and President Biden can’t qualify because they don’t have that qualification.”Right now, they’re the presumptive candidates and I’m the only one voting. ” he continued.

Kennedy also emphasized a second criterion: candidates must reach 15% in four separate national polls for CNN to consider.

His team presented five national polls to the outlet, specifically the Harvard-Harris Poll, the Monmouth Poll, the Quinnipiac Poll, and a recent CNN poll that showed it met the 15% threshold. He said that he mentioned that.

“So I am eligible to participate in the debate,” he said, noting that his team is currently in talks with the network.

“We are going to vote… Today we have enough signatures for 201 electors. By the end of the month we will have 340,” he later added.

The Democrat-turned-independent also outlined his positions on key issues that will determine the outcome of this November’s highly anticipated race, including the economy, abortion and border security.

On immigration, he said he was prepared to close the border overnight and deport “many” people who are in the U.S. illegally, but he also made it clear he doesn’t want to tear families apart.

He blamed unchecked government spending for the highest inflation in 40 years, and argued that neither Trump nor Biden were adequately addressing the problem. He also made his position on abortion clear, saying he supports a woman’s right to abort a baby until it is viable and that the government “has an interest in protecting that child.”
