A young Colorado man could face up to 60 years in prison for setting fire to the wrong house and killing five innocent family members in a wild revenge plot over a stolen iPhone.
Kevin Bui, now 20, pleaded guilty last week to starting a late-night fire near Denver in August 2020 after tracking a stolen cell phone to the general area using the “Find My iPhone” app. Pleaded guilty.
Bui, then 16, was portrayed by prosecutors as the ringleader of three friends who planned the inferno that incinerated a Senegalese family, including two baby girls.

The teens were eventually arrested about five months after the fire.
Dillon Siebert, then 14, pleaded guilty last year to second-degree murder and was sentenced to three years in a juvenile detention center and seven years in a state prison for juvenile inmates.
Meanwhile, Gavin Seymour, 19, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder and was sentenced to 40 years in prison in March.
Bui, who was charged as an adult, pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder in a plea deal that proposed a maximum sentence of 60 years in prison (30 years on each charge).
Sixty other charges against Bui, including first-degree murder, attempted murder, arson and robbery, were dropped by prosecutors under the agreement.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 2nd.
