Harrison Butker’s commencement speech drew the ire of leftists across the country, but a surprising number of people have come out in support of the Kansas City Chiefs kicker.
In his speech, Butker spoke about the joys of motherhood and his gratitude for his wife, promoting what Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report called “the basics.”
“It’s about being a mother, providing for a family, being a decent human being, and how much better that is than the commodity price that many women have probably been sold for,” Rubin summed up Butker’s speech. said.
Even Bill Maher, a lifelong celibate atheist who professes to have no children, agreed with Butker’s speech.
“I don’t know what the big crime is. I really don’t know. And I think part of the problem that people have with the left is that there are a lot of people like this in this country. ” Mr. Maher began.
“He says that some of you may go on to have successful careers, but many of you will do things differently than anyone has ever done. And now I think that’s an option.” Maher continued.
“And they feel like there’s a lot of weight put on them, as if the only way to be a good person is to get an advanced degree from a factory like Harvard,” he added.
Rubin has come to expect these sane, liberal views from Mr. Maher, and is not surprised when he is correct in them.
“Okay, Bill. So, that’s good news. The average liberal understands that and knows that these are inherent truths that we all know,” he said. says.
