Jets’ Aaron Rodgers says opted against becoming RKF Jr’s running mate, wants NFL career to continue

The New York Jets no longer need to scramble to find a starting quarterback.

Four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers has decided to put his political ambitions on hold and focus on football. Rogers’ name was associated with independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

But the 40-year-old quarterback has finally addressed speculation that he might be leaving the NFL for politics by becoming Kennedy’s running mate.

“I love Bobby (Kennedy). We had some really great conversations, but there were really two choices: retire and be his vice president, or keep playing. ” Rodgers told reporters after the Jets’ organized team activities. “But I wanted to keep playing.”

Aaron Rodgers will receive a significant pay cut if he becomes RFK JR vice presidential candidate.

Earlier this year, the Kennedy campaign confirmed that Mr. Rogers was on the short list of candidates to join Mr. Kennedy as an independent presidential candidate.

However, shortly after Rogers’ name was floated as a running mate, Kennedy nominated California attorney Nicole Shanahan as his running mate.
