Actress Cate Blanchett made a controversial statement at the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France this week when she wore a dress that resembled the Palestinian flag.
The Oscar-winning actress attended a screening of the new film wearing a custom Jean Paul Gaultier dress by Colombian-born French designer Haider Ackermann. apprenticeThe book chronicles former President Donald Trump’s real estate ventures in New York City in the 1970s and 1980s.
The gown features a skirt lining in shades of green similar to the Palestinian flag, with pale pink on the back, black in the front, and red carpet to match the rest of the flag. Blanchett pulled up the back of her skirt to reveal the green lining.
This is not the first time Blanchett has publicly opposed Israel in its war with Hamas.
Last year, Blanchett signed a letter along with 55 other actors and entertainment industry figures. demanding President Joe Biden has called for a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.
Blanchett’s letter said: “We urge your administration and all world leaders to respect all life in the Holy Land and call for and promote a cease-fire without delay – an end to the bombing of Gaza and the safety of hostages. I ask for your liberation.” Signed state.
