According to evidence presented by IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, Hunter lied “indisputably” at least three times during his sworn testimony.

At a closed board meeting, a majority of the panel voted in favor of disclosure.

Hunter, 54, claimed he was “high or drunk” when he sent threatening text messages to the wrong Chinese business associate. However, phone records of the conversation show that when the president’s son asked to speak with CEFC China Energy Chairman Ye Jianming, associate Raymond Chao responded and said, “I don’t know exactly what he was talking about.” It is clear that he knew.

“Of course. We just need some time to get in touch with him,” CEFC’s translator, Ms. Chao, wrote back the next day. “CEFC will work with the family.”

Hunter continued to exchange messages with Chao, at one point warning her that he was “sitting there” with her father, Joe Biden, and threatening that they would both “hold a grudge” if the CEFC translator reneged on his “promise.”

“[T]”The Mr. Zhao to whom this email was sent is not the Mr. Zhao associated with CEFC,” Hunter said in his testimony.

In his initial interview with House investigators last year, Shapley said the intended recipient for his eldest son was Henry Chao. But a 2020 Senate Republican-led committee report on the transfers said CEFC transferred $5 million to a bank account linked to Hunter Biden within 10 days.

“My dad wasn’t even sitting next to me,” Hunter said in a message on July 30, 2017, also addressing his father, Joe’s whereabouts. “My dad had no idea about the business I was running. He didn’t make any profit from what I was doing.”

In 2020, post The outlet uncovered that a May 2017 email written by Biden family associate James Gilliar referred to a “big shot” (meaning Joe Biden) receiving a 10% cut from a proposed joint venture with CEFC.

Joe’s brother, James Biden, was also mentioned, saying that in September 2017 he wrote a check for $40,000 to “repay a loan” to the current president.

Ziegler provided the commission with documents signed by Hunter showing that he was the “beneficial owner” of the Rosemont Seneca Bohai bank account. This is despite Hunter’s previous testimony that he was “not under my control.” [Hunter’s] “He has no control over me, no relationship with me,” he said, and “I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a corporate secretary.”

The document, signed on April 29, 2014, states, “I, Robert Hunter Biden, do hereby certify that I, Robert Hunter Biden, am duly elected, qualified and acting Secretary of Rosemont Seneca Bohai LLC,” and authorized Hunter to enter into a contract with Porsche Financial Services.

Hunter also falsely denied ever helping his associates with “any necessary visa work” or “calling anyone to get a visa.”

In another email dated February 5thNumberIn November 2015, documents obtained by the Revenue Service showed that Hunter, his former business partner Devon Archer and others tried to obtain a visa for Mykola Zlochevsky, the founder of Ukrainian gas company Burisma.

“Hunter is checking with Miguel Alemán to see if he can cover Kola’s visa,” Archer said in an email, adding to Burisma official Vadim Pozharsky: “Please email all of Kola’s passport and visa documents and evidence to Hunter and send me a copy, and we will take it from there.”

“Hunter Biden reiterated that he believes there are two systems of justice in this country: one for his family and one for everyone else. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-Missouri) said in a statement. “Hunter Biden not only refused to comply with his initial subpoena until he was threatened with criminal contempt, but then went to Congress and lied.”

“Lying under oath is a felony, the Department of Justice has prosecuted many individuals in recent years, and the American people expect similar accountability from the president’s son,” Smith added. “Hunter Biden’s lies under oath and obstruction of congressional investigations into potential corruption in his family calls into question other parts of his testimony. Newly released evidence once again confirms that the only witness in this investigation who can be trusted to tell the truth is the IRS whistleblower.”

Email correspondence between Shapley and former Delaware Assistant U.S. Attorney Leslie Wolfe regarding “updated information on one of the witnesses” in Hunter’s tax investigation, which was ongoing at the time, was also entered into evidence before the Board of Revenue. It was included.

Shapley said in a sworn affidavit dated May 14 that Wolf and Justice Department tax attorney Jack Morgan had been summoned to the CIA in Langley, Virginia, to receive a classified briefing on a witness, Hunter’s “sugar brother,” Kevin Morris.Number2024.

“She repeatedly reiterated that she had been subpoenaed by the CIA at Langley regarding Mr. Morris, and that because of the information provided there, Mr. Morris could not be a witness in the investigation,” Shapley said, recounting a phone conversation she had with Wolf around August 2021.

Just months before Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss announced his June 20 verdict.thIn 2023, the IRS whistleblower was removed from the investigation as part of a plea deal with the president’s son.

Hunter’s lawyers subsequently rejected a plea deal for probation only. Weiss was promoted to special prosecutor and prosecuted the eldest son on felony gun and tax charges in Delaware and Los Angeles.

The federal court in Wilmington is scheduled to hold a gun trial on June 3.rd.
