Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Whatley made the statement after unknown assailants evacuated the RNC headquarters in Washington, D.C., saying the organization remains “steadfast” in its mission even if opponents attempt “violent tactics” and will send two vials of blood to the location.
After the vial was discovered, individuals were temporarily evacuated from RNC headquarters and a hazardous materials team was called to investigate the matter. The vial was reportedly intended for former President Donald Trump, but its intent remains unclear and the identity of the blood has not been made public.

After receiving the alert from authorities, Whatley issued an email statement calling it a “biological attack.”
Today, a vial of blood was sent to RNC headquarters in Washington, DC. We would like to thank law enforcement for their quick response and ensuring everyone’s safety. As the lockdown is lifted and our staff resumes their duties, it is because we remain undaunted and unflinching in our efforts to elect President Trump to the White House.

But he said such efforts would not interfere with the RNC’s mission.
