‘Somebody Tell Me What I’m Missing’

Television personality and celebrity personal trainer Jillian Michaels has challenged the notion that Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker should be fired and replaced by a woman for the simple “crime” of holding firm Christian faith.

of Kansas City Star recently Published Contributor Peter Ham wrote an opinion piece arguing that Butker, a Catholic who values traditional family life, should be removed from the Chiefs team and replaced with a female footballer, which sparked mixed reactions.

Michaels believes it’s unreasonable for Ham to seek “poetic justice” by replacing Butker with a female kicker.

“There was a study published in Sports Med that actually assessed the likelihood of this happening, and football kickers were in fact one of the sports that were looked at,” Michaels explained on Fox News this week.

“And when it came to football kicking ability, men had a 16-22% advantage over women.”

Blaze News Reports While I couldn’t find the exact study Michaels cited, I added the qualifying words, “There is a mountain of scientific evidence that shows men are more athletic kickers than women. After all, no woman has ever made an NFL roster as a placekicker, and no woman has ever been successful in college football. Even the best female soccer players in the United States sometimes get beaten by teenage boys.”

Michaels pointed out the double standard regarding free speech that exists in American culture, and questioned why First Amendment rights don’t apply to everything in the public domain.

“I’m a businesswoman, I’m gay and I’m not religious so I’m probably a very different person to this kicker, but I just can’t understand what this guy has said that has people calling for his head,” she said.

“Can somebody tell me what I’m missing when literally kids on a college campus across the street are calling for the death of all Jewish people and we’re protecting their First Amendment rights,” she pointed out.

“But this guy lives a slightly different life than you do, has different opinions, and we want to ruin his life? What’s going on?”
