One woman has died, another is in hospital and a 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a double stabbing incident on Bournemouth seafront late on Friday night.
Dorset Police said they received a report of two people being stabbed on Durley Chine Beach in Bournemouth, England, at 11:42 pm on Friday.
A 34-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she continues to be treated for serious injuries.

The stabbing took place at Darley Chine, a popular holiday spot for families, with thousands of people expected to hit the beach over the bank holiday weekend.

Detective Superintendent Richard Dixey, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “We have worked tirelessly through the night since the initial report and have been able to make progress with our investigation.”
“Firstly, our hearts go out to the family of the woman who tragically lost her life.
“Officers are continuing their investigation. The lockdown remains in place and is expected to remain in place for some time.”

“I would urge anyone with information who has not already contacted police to get in touch, particularly anyone who was in the area of Durley Chine Beach between 10pm and midnight on Friday 24 May 2024 and witnessed anything unusual. Information can be uploaded through the dedicated Serious Incident Public Portal for this incident,” Detective Superintendent Richard Dicksee said.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area over the next few days and anyone with any concerns can speak to officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team.”
