
A Missouri state legislator’s daughter and son-in-law were reportedly murdered and set on fire by a gang while serving as missionaries in Haiti.
The young couple and a third victim were killed in a brutal attack that reportedly took place Thursday night in the Lison neighborhood, north of Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince.
The three victims were identified as 23-year-old Davey Lloyd, 21-year-old Natalie Lloyd, and 45-year-old Jude Monteith. All three victims were members of Mission in Haiti, an organization founded by Davey’s parents, David and Alicia Lloyd. The facility, which educated about 450 children, included an orphanage housing about 50 children, a school, and a church.

Natalie joined the organization in August after the couple married in June 2022. Her father, Missouri Rep. Ben Baker, said the couple had been working as “full-time missionaries” in Haiti.
Monteith served as the group’s representative in Haiti for 20 years and was a pastor with a wife and two young children.
Gang members allegedly ambushed the trio at the premises on Thursday.

His distraught father said Davey was able to untie himself and the trio managed to escape to a smaller house on the property.
In the midst of the chaos, Davey called his father.
“On their way there [to the house]”He was telling me what had been stolen, what had happened,” Lloyd explained, “and as he was telling me he said, ‘Dad, something’s going on. I think more of them are coming back.’ He didn’t know what was going on because he thought it was the same gang that was coming back.”
The couple and Monteith barricaded themselves inside the home, but gang members “eventually shot out all the windows and fired gunfire into the home,” the report said.
Gang members allegedly entered the home and shot and killed all three missionaries.
The news outlet reported that video of the gruesome crime scene showed “the bodies of three people, Davey Lloyd and Monteith, lying on the floor, burned to death.”

I have no other words right now.
Baker Said Regarding the repatriation of Davey and Natalie’s bodies, he said “the situation is going very well.”
“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the two Americans killed by gangs in Haiti,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said. statement.
