Speaking on Newsmax TV’s “Rob Schmidt Tonight” on Friday, Darin Huber Sr. (whose son, Staff Sgt. Darin Taylor Huber Jr., was killed in a 2021 attack at Kabul airport during the Afghanistan withdrawal) said he hasn’t heard from President Joe Biden and that “they’ve put Afghanistan in the past” and won’t answer to Gold Star families.
“It’s a three-day weekend and I know everyone will be out and about like it’s the first weekend of summer, but I just ask people to take a moment to pause and think about all the heroes, men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom and remember and thank them in their own way,” Governor Hoover said.
After the discussion turned to Biden, Huber said:[W]”I haven’t heard a word from him. They’ve put Afghanistan behind them. And they haven’t spoken to any of us. They haven’t reached out to any of us. It’s time to bring this up again and answer these questions. We want accountability. We want those answers and we’re not getting them. Something needs to be done this weekend, with the anniversary coming up. They need to stand up and do what it takes to get us those answers. Frankly, the country owes them those answers. All of those veterans who died in those 20 years of war deserve better than what we got. He needs to step down and leave the White House.”
