In a recent interview with Jordan Peterson to promote his upcoming biopic ReaganHollywood star Dennis Quaid has praised former President Donald Trump, calling him “very principled” and even “kind,” and specifically pointing out Trump’s foreign policy accomplishments, including the Abraham Accords.
Quaid said that under Trump’s Abraham Accords, “all of what’s happening right now wouldn’t have happened,” referring to the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, and agreed that Trump can be coercive when necessary – a positive trait when dealing with adversaries.
“I think [Trump] He has a lot of conviction. He is very kind and at the same time [a bully about his beliefs]”He raised his kids well, and they’re very principled themselves,” the veteran actor said of the former president.

Quaid said Ronald Reagan was his “favorite president” and that he “voted for him twice.” He said his support for Reagan cost him ground for many left-wing friends at the time and that he “got kicked out of the Hipps.”
In other parts of the interview, The right one, Parent Trapand America’s Weak Starr spoke about government overreach and said that when the left professes its intention to help the people but then expands government, the problem becomes the expansion of power, not what politicians say.
He also revealed that he is an independent who has voted for politicians on both sides of the aisle, including Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, and said he regrets voting for Carter.
“I am who I am,” Quaid said.
Quaid plays Ronald Reagan, who rose through the political ranks from anti-Communist activist to Hollywood star to Governor of California to the White House. The film also stars Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy Reagan and Meena Suvari as Jane Wyman, as well as Oscar winner Jon Voight.
