“General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor was shot and killed during a car theft in Los Angeles early Saturday morning, according to reports.
Wachter, 37, was shot and killed after he and a co-worker witnessed three suspects attempting to steal a catalytic converter from his vehicle. TMZ reported:citing Wachter’s mother and police.
His grieving mother, Scarlett Wachter, said authorities told her her son didn’t resist when they confronted the suspects, but they fired shots at him and then fled, according to the outlet.
Wachter was pronounced dead at the hospital just after 3 a.m. KTLA reported.
As of Sunday afternoon, no suspects had been arrested.
Wachter is best known for playing Brando Corbin in 164 episodes of the long-running soap opera General Hospital from 2020 to 2022. According to his IMDb profile:He also appeared in episodes of the supernatural drama shows “Siberia” and “Criminal Minds.”
His mother told TMZ she remembers him as a loving young man, and the outlet said he is survived by his mother and two younger brothers.
