Denver Offers How-To Guide on Turning Cities into Taxpayer-Funded Immigrant Sanctuaries

The Democratic-led city of Denver, Colorado, is offering a how-to guide to help other cities become immigrant havens at taxpayer expense.

The guide is title The authors of the book, titled “Newcomer Playbook: A Guide to Welcoming Newcomers to Your City,” say they are “thrilled” to be able to offer guidance on how to plan and bring sanctuary cities to life.

The guide says:

We’re thrilled that you want to create a welcoming environment for newcomers in our city. As part of Denver’s welcoming attitude, we’re calling newcomers “newcomers” to recognize that they’re new to our city and to embrace more inclusive language. This playbook is a two-section guide that offers recommendations and strategies to help newcomers successfully integrate into your city.

The guide praises “Mayor Mike Johnston’s Office” and several immigration agencies he runs. The 22-page booklet praises the city for turning it into an immigrant mecca, but it was allegedly written by the same mayor who has attacked outside groups and the state that send immigrants to Denver, claimed the migration wave is unsustainable, deployed officials to stop immigrants from coming to Denver, spent millions of dollars to send immigrants to other cities, cut funding and services, and moved to remove immigrants from city-sponsored shelters.

Despite actions that seem at odds with the “welcome” the guide claims Denver has offered “newcomers” (it’s the latest Orwellian rebranding of the term “illegal immigrant”), the guide offers helpful tips to aspiring sanctuary cities about how to redirect city services from citizens to immigrants.

It includes tips on setting up reception centers to direct migrants to free services, providing free transportation, free housing, food, clothing, medical care, legal advice and more.

The guide also suggests cities purchase or contract mobile shower and laundry trucks to provide such services to “newcomers.”

There’s also a comprehensive checklist of “guest-related” questions to help cities identify problem areas in advance. The guide advises city officials to use fake numbers if immigrants’ Social Security Numbers (SSNs) are required, telling readers, “If you need an SSN to proceed with your application through the online portal, please call 123-45-6789.”

In a statement to reporters at the launch of the guide, Mayor Johnston said: Claimed He was “the national leader on this issue,” Denver Light.

“Despite the failure of the federal government to support our city, over the past year and a half, Denver has led the way in building sustainable systems to help newcomers get back on their feet and turn crisis into opportunity,” Johnston argued.

“I’m proud that this playbook will help move people to settle in cities with more opportunity, helping cities across the country better accommodate newcomers and revitalize their workforces,” Johnston said.
