A lucky California dog was rescued by emergency workers after being chased off a cliff by a raccoon over Memorial Day weekend.
The San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) reported the incident happened Sunday night in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of central San Francisco.
The dog, named Cushy Pup, was rescued around 10:30 p.m., according to FOX 2 San Francisco. More than 10 fire department personnel were on scene to assist with the rescue effort.
“It has been reported that a raccoon chased Cushy Pup off a cliff,” the San Francisco Fire Department told Fox News Digital.

Fire department officials also told Fox News Digital that the dog was found 20 feet down a “steep cliff.”
“Cassie was on a steep cliff about 20 feet below a cliff about 70 feet high,” the spokesperson explained.

Eventually, rescue workers wearing harnesses were lowered to the scene of the landslide and, with the help of a rope rescue device, were able to capture the puppy and free the animal.

Despite the horrific incident, Kushy Pappu was found unharmed.
“Thankfully, no one was injured and Kussy has been reunited with his human companion,” the fire department said.
