Oops.
Dov Kleiman was wrong again.
Kleiman, the much-derided NFL news aggregator on X, posted on Monday night that Raiders owner Mark Davis and dancer/choreographer Hayden Hopkins are expecting a child, following major online rumors.
However, that wasn’t true.
Hopkins quickly denied the rumors, and Kleiman subsequently deleted his post on X.
“The reports that Mark Davis is the father of my child are completely unfounded,” Hopkins wrote to X. “I was photographed sitting next to him at a 2022 game and have endured false rumors of a romantic relationship ever since. I was simply a guest sitting in the owner’s box with other friends.”
“These ongoing media reports have had a negative impact on what should be one of our happiest days. Joey and I look forward to welcoming our baby in the fall.”
Hopkins announced her pregnancy on her Instagram four weeks ago, prompting a flurry of comments suggesting the baby could be Davis’.
Hopkins has performed with Cirque du Soleil and denied rumors that she was dating Davis in 2022 after photos of the pair were posted.
“Haha MD [Mark Davis] “He’s a legend! He’s my neighbor and friend. Fun game,” Hopkins wrote on Instagram in 2022.
She was spotted sitting next to Davis in his suite during the Raiders vs. Chargers game on Dec. 4, 2022, after which rumors surfaced that the two were romantically involved.
Davis is 69 and Hopkins is 26, which generated a lot of interest.
“Congratulations! Raiders owner Mark Davis’ girlfriend, Hayden Hopkins, 26, is pregnant,” Kleiman wrote on Monday. “Happy for the power couple.”
Yes, Kleiman even got Davis’ age wrong.
As of Monday night, Kleiman had not offered a retraction or explanation, simply deleted the post.
He works for the sports blog BroBible, which he founded in 2009, is in his early 30s and lives in Israel.
He has received considerable criticism for taking reporters’ reports out of context and reproducing them on social media.
