Mike Tyson suffers medical emergency on airplane in Miami

According to witnesses, Mike Tyson suffered an apparent medical emergency during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, just seven weeks before his Netflix boxing match.

The flight had reportedly already been delayed by two hours because of weather in Miami that made the cabin too hot, and Tyson was seen boarding and disembarking the plane before takeoff.

The boxing legend reportedly appeared at the American Airlines Admirals Club before boarding the flight, drawing loud cheers from the area.

“There was a huge commotion when he left the Admirals Club and reached the gate. Lots of fans recognised him and some took photos,” an eyewitness said. In Touch Weekly“He was very nice, and then he was escorted away from the gate because the flight was delayed because the gate agent said the plane had been sitting there all day and it was too hot and needed to cool down.”

Fast forward 30 minutes before the plane landed in Los Angeles, and an announcement was made asking if the flight attendants had any medical technicians or doctors on board.

“It is a misrepresentation that his medical procedure caused the flight to be delayed.”

“The plane made an announcement to call a doctor and the message was also shown on everyone’s screens,” the witness explained.

After the flight landed, witnesses said Tyson “suffered some sort of medical emergency on board the plane and paramedics were brought on board.”

This caused a 25-minute delay before paramedics could treat Tyson in first class.

Following the incident, the former heavyweight champion’s representative said that “thankfully” Tyson was “in good spirits.”

The problem, it seems, was that Tyson’s ulcer had worsened.

“30 minutes before landing his ulcer worsened, causing him to become nauseous and dizzy,” the spokesman said. “He is grateful to the medical staff who came to his aid.”

The spokesman also denied earlier reports that Tyson had delayed the flight’s departure.

“It is a misrepresentation that his medical procedure caused the flight to be delayed,” he added. ESPN“The two-hour delay was due to an issue with the aircraft’s air conditioning.”

In response to the reports, Tyson said: X He declared himself feeling good in the account and criticized his opponent, Jake Paul.

“I don’t have to be 100% to beat Jake Paul, but I feel 100% right now.”

Tyson remains confident ahead of his scheduled fight against Paul at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20, 2024. The boxer responded vehemently in an April interview about his ability to draw fans and criticized his opponents.

“I’m 58 and what? I get billions of viewers just talking to somebody about combat sports,” he said. “Everybody’s jealous, even most athletes, it’s crazy. … I’m like, ‘I wouldn’t have been able to draw a million people in my prime.’ What are you talking about, I wouldn’t have sold out.” [an] “Who’s a 58-year-old fighter who can fill an 80,000-seat arena?” Tyson said.
