Clark leads all rookies in scoring by nearly five points and is also the second-most rebounding first-year player.

Clark’s biggest challenge so far has been taking care of the ball. In her first game of the season, she set a new Fever franchise record for turnovers, having four games with at least five turnovers. But she did it all against very tough opponents in Indiana (twice against the Sun, twice against the Liberty and once against the Aces) and during a historically packed schedule that has seen the Fever play seven games this season while most teams have only played four or five games.

statistics: 10.8 points (52.8% FG), 5.2 rebounds, 3.2 blocks, 2.4 assists

Drafted second overall by the Sparks after a stellar career at Stanford, Cameron Brink has been the draft class’ most impactful rookie through the first three weeks of the WNBA season. She also leads the league in blocks, averaging 3.2 blocks per game.

Brink has always been known for her defense, and so far, it has worked for her. The extra fouls allowed in the WNBA have been a big help. While she was frequently ejected for fouls in college, she is allowed a sixth personal foul at the pro level. She has five fouls in three of her first five games, so whistles should be kept to a minimum, but she has never been ejected for a foul.
