Mets relief pitcher Jorge Lopez was open about his feelings about the current state of the Mets.
After an ugly day in which the Mets lost 10-3 at Citi Field and Lopez was ejected from the game and threw his glove into the stands, Lopez lambasted his team in front of reporters, calling them “probably the worst team in the entire MLB.”
Lopez is also expected to be nominated soon. According to Joel Sherman of the Post:He also refused to express any regret for his glove-throwing tirade.
“I think I was probably on the worst team in the entire MLB,” Lopez said. “Whatever happens, happens. It’s what they want to do. I’ll be here tomorrow if they want. It’s what they want to do. I’m going to continue doing this job, so whatever I do, I’ll be healthy.”
“If they want me to be here, I’m ready to come back tomorrow. I’ll be here.”
