‘Hundreds and Hundreds’ Baptized at Texas Fountain Amid ‘Summer of Baptisms’

“Hundreds” of men, women and children were baptized in a fountain outside Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas, over the weekend. Jenny Weaver, a former Wiccan turned Christian pastor and founder of the Core Group, led the baptisms as part of the largest revival to take place in the US this summer.

“In March I heard the Lord say, ‘This year will be the summer of baptism,’ and those words have come true,” Weaver said. I have written On social media, “2000 people and the power of God met us!”

according to CBN NewsPastor Weaver was instructed to host a “Summer Baptism” before baptizing over 200 people on Easter Sunday at Clearwater Beach in Tampa, Florida.

“Baptisms are spreading across the country because that’s what God is doing right now,” she said last month. “It’s time to rejoice because the harvest is ready!!!!”

Over Mother’s Day weekend, Weaver and her husband, Steven, kicked off their “Baptism Summer” event on the shores of Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Fla. Additionally, members of the core group joined Weaver at the same time over Mother’s Day weekend, visiting beaches and rivers in California, New Jersey, Missouri, Tennessee and New Zealand.

She previously explained to CBN News that holding the baptism on a holiday weekend was a strategic calling from God.

“When you go on holiday, you get people vacationing on lakes and beaches; [reach] “Things that are lost,” she said.

As a result, Weaver said, beach party-goers left with a desire for more faith in God.

“Yesterday we baptized some people who smelled like they had been drinking,” she recalled on Facebook. “They had tears in their eyes and said, ‘We don’t want to live like this anymore. We need Jesus.’ It was so surreal and they meant it. And I could tell!!!”

“History is being made,” Weaver said after the massive baptism ceremony last weekend.

“They were lowering people in wheelchairs into the water wanting to be baptized just like this sweet woman! The power of God was so powerfully at work in these baptisms…I will never forget this,” she wrote.

She said in a recent Fox News interview that she plans to lead the event throughout the summer.

“The plan is to get to as many places as possible and have people from all over come and be baptized,” she said. “People are looking for hope. People are longing for change and we believe they will find that in Jesus.”

She added that the message behind it is: “Come and be transformed.”

“This is forever, and people are going to see the change in Jesus,” she told the outlet. “I’m an ex-Wiccan. I was homeless. I was living on the streets… and now I’m completely changed, and the only thing that made that possible was Jesus.”
