‘If There was Ever a Time to Speak Up, IT’S NOW! ‘

Country music star Jason Aldean publicly denounced the guilty verdict handed down on Thursday in former President Donald Trump’s New York trial, saying “this is a terrifying time in our country.”

Jason Aldean posted an image of an upside-down American flag on Instagram, which is a signal to warn of distress or danger.

“This is a frightening time in our country,” Aldean wrote. “What does it mean for us as a people that a former president is being treated like this by our justice system? If there was ever a time to speak up, it’s now! Make no mistake…we are in danger.”

A Democratic-leaning jury in New York City on Thursday found former President Donald Trump guilty on all 34 charges in the business records lawsuit, which has been condemned by prominent conservatives and independents as a politically motivated prosecution, or “loafer,” case, designed to tip the scales in November’s presidential election for Biden.

An appeal is certain. “It’s not over yet,” Trump said Thursday.

Speaking after the verdict, Trump called the trial a “rigged and dishonorable trial” and said the “real verdict” would be handed down on Election Day in November, as reported by Breitbart News. “I am a totally innocent man,” Trump said, pointing out that President Joe Biden has used the justice system as a weapon against his political opponents.

“We will win,” Trump said of the appeals process. “We will fight for the Constitution. It’s not over yet.”

Judge Marchan has scheduled the sentence for July 11, just four days before the Republican National Convention.

Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town” was an unexpected hit last year, decrying the lawlessness and chaos that had plagued big cities like New York.
