Fever GM irate over Caitlin Clark’s treatment after latest incident: ‘It needs to stop!’

Indiana Fever general manager Lin Dunn and head coach Christy Sides expressed outrage over the treatment of Caitlin Clark, which culminated in Saturday’s game against the Chicago Sky.

During the Fever’s 71-70 win in the Commissioner’s Cup, Clark was hip-checked by guard Chennedy Clark and got into a tangle with Angel Reese late in the game.

The 2024 No. 1 draft pick made light of the drama in his post-game press conference, but was defended by Dunn and Sides.

“There is a difference between tough defense and unnecessary offensive moves!” Dan wrote in X’s post. “This needs to stop! The league needs to ‘clean up’ the crap! This is not what this league is about!!”

Syed told reporters he had sent the tapes to the league office.

“We’re trying to avoid getting fined,” Sides said, “and I’m just going to continue to send these possessions and plays to the league and hopefully they’ll take a closer look at some of the things that we see happening or think are happening.”

“I’m just happy that Kaitlyn handled it the way she did. It’s tough when you keep getting beaten down like she did and not getting rewarded with free throws or foul calls. She fights through it and keeps fighting. I appreciate how she handled it and I’m really proud of her.”

The WNBA did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Last week, Clark collided with Seattle Storms guard Victoria Vivians after Clark bumped into Vivians after making a 3-pointer and the two began arguing.

After the loss to the Storm, Clarke acknowledged the physicality he faced.
