Adele slams homophobic fan during Las Vegas residency

Adele slammed a homophobic fan who yelled “Pride sucks” during her Las Vegas performance on Saturday night.

The “Someone Like You” songstress briefly paused her performance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace to celebrate the start of Pride Month when a member of the audience made the controversial remark.

“You come to my shitty show and say, ‘Pride sucks,'” she asked the concert-goer. “Are you stupid? Don’t say that stupid thing.”

“If you have nothing nice to say, just keep quiet,” Adele, 36, continued.

The 16-time Grammy Award winner addressed her fans briefly while sitting at the piano bench, several of whom cheered.

The “Hello” singer has shown her support for the LGBTQIA+ community for years – she even dedicated a 2016 performance in Belgium to the victims of the Pulse nightclub mass murder in Florida. From TMZ.

Reflecting on the hate crime at a gay nightclub that left around 50 members dead, she told European audiences: “The LGBTQ community has been like my soul mate since I was really young, so it really touches me.”

As well as standing up for her beliefs, Adele has also not been shy about calling out the aggressive behaviour of concertgoers.

Referring to top artists who have been hit with mobile phones and other miscellaneous objects, she said: “Do you realise now that people are forgetting show etiquette and throwing things on the stage?”

She continued, “Did you see that? You dare, throw something at me, I’ll kill you.”

The hitmaker is considering expanding her family with partner Rich Paul and may end her residency on “Weekends With Adele” soon.

“Once all my obligations and shows are over, I want to have a baby,” Adele told fans in May. “I already have a boy, so I want a girl.”

The “Easy on Me” singer has 11-year-old son Angelo with ex-husband Simon Konecki.
