Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy on murder charges in the stabbing death of a 15-year-old boy at a Florida sleepover party on Saturday.
According to arrest records provided to The Daily Caller by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, the sheriff’s office received a call in the town of Wildwood around 10:11 p.m. (RELATED: Video appears to show woman trying to stab man after car crash)
“The incident occurred while the juvenile victim was staying over when the suspect (an acquaintance of the victim) showed up unannounced and ‘knocked’ on the door. The juvenile victim went to unlock the door when the suspect (Alex Hernandez) entered the home,” a press release from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office stated. Post to Facebook.
“Following the entry, the suspect stabbed the juvenile victim (Connor Michael Gill) and threatened the third victim. An adult victim who came to investigate what was happening was also stabbed by the suspect. Both stabbing victims were rescued by emergency medical services at the scene and subsequently transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital for further treatment.” (Related story: Florida mother arrested for DUI for second time in two months after crashing car with multiple children in it)
Hernandez fled the scene but was apprehended a short time later with the assistance of a sheriff’s office helicopter. He is being held in the Sumter County Jail on suspicion of first-degree premeditated murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and armed robbery.
