YouTube personality MrBeast overtook Indian music channel T-Series over the weekend to become the video platform’s most-subscribed creator account.
Jimmy Donaldson, the 26-year-old behind the MrBeast account, revealed over the weekend that he Number of subscribers: 266.7 milliontaking the title from T-Series. As of Monday, MrBeast’s account It had over 270 million subscribers.Meanwhile, the T-Series sales remained at around 266 million units.
Mr.Beast has been uploading videos to YouTube since 2012 and is known for his outrageous stunts, extreme challenges, and cash giveaways with his followers. His videos often garner more than 100 million views.
“After 6 years, PewDiePie has finally gotten his revenge.” Donaldson wrote on Sunday. It is named after Felix Kjellberg (aka PewDiePie), the YouTube creator who had the most subscribers on social platform X until T-Series won the title in 2019.
Since launching his channel, Donaldson has expanded his business beyond YouTube, launching a virtual restaurant called MrBeast Burger that offers a variety of burger-themed dishes for delivery across the US.
He also owns and sells the chocolate brand ‘Feastables’ and the online goods brand ‘ShopMrBeast’.
Donaldson He told Time magazine in February of last year. He makes between $600 million and $700 million a year, but thanks to reinvestment he doesn’t consider himself wealthy.
“Each video brings in millions of dollars in advertising revenue and millions more in brand deals,” he told Time magazine. “I foolishly reinvested everything in it, believing it would work. And it did.”
Earlier this year, MrBeast announced that filming was underway. The company will collaborate with Amazon Prime Video to produce “the biggest game show ever,” which will be distributed on the platform. More than 1,000 participants will take part, with a prize of $5 million.
