Even though Rep. John Rhodes delivered an impassioned speech Monday denouncing last week’s conviction of former President Trump, all eyes were on the speaker behind Rhodes.
As the Tennessee Republican spoke on the House floor, his son, 6-year-old Guy Rhodes, looked straight into the camera and flashed a broad, mischievous grin.

As his father delivered his speech, blasting the “weaponization of the justice system”, Rose appeared to fidget briefly, then looked bored, stuck out his tongue and made a series of funny facial expressions and hand gestures.
It wasn’t long before the youngster became a social media star and a new meme – all at just 6 years old.
Some formerly “anti-Trump” voters now say they’ll support a Republican candidate who convicts a convicted felon.
“He knows something,” Doug Andres, a spokesman for Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, tweeted to X along with a photo of a young Rose.
“Sorry for the late response to your email. I’ve been busy watching this video over and over,” tweeted Aaron Fritschner, a spokesman for Rep. Don Beyer, D-Va.

Rose herself seems to be taking the incident in stride, joking online: “This is what happens when you tell your son Guy to smile for the camera for his brother.”
