Businessman Kevin O’Leary believes Democrats will have no one to thank but themselves if Donald Trump wins the 2024 election.
Last spring, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) became the first official to seek criminal prosecution against Trump. More than a year later, Bragg, and Democrats generally, celebrated when a jury found Trump guilty of 34 felony counts.
“History will prove that he made Donald Trump president once again!”
But Americans quickly voiced concerns about the ruling, which became a fundraising boon for Trump and the Republican Party.
With Trump’s campaign now more active than ever, O’Leary believes history will prove that Bragg and the Democratic Party were the driving force behind returning Trump to the White House.
“Let’s not forget, Donald Trump was not in control of the party until just 24 months ago, at the height of Biden’s first term,” O’Leary told Piers Morgan on Monday. “About a third of them were rebelling because … they were concerned about the controversy surrounding Trump, they wanted new leadership, and Trump was being challenged.”
“But then something happened that changed everything. It’s the law of unintended consequences,” he continued. “As soon as Alvin Bragg began denouncement of Trump, within 48 hours the entire Republican Party had rallied behind him.”
“But what’s really interesting is that if Trump becomes president, I think he’ll owe a huge debt to Alvin Bragg,” O’Leary said.
Democrats often talk about being on the “right side of history,” and O’Leary said history will record Bragg as someone who was on the right side of history – with Trump and the Republican Party.
“I know Alvin Bragg might not have liked that as an unintended consequence, but history will show that he put Donald Trump back in office!” O’Leary predicted.
This prediction is not far-fetched: For one thing, Americans who believe court decisions and lawsuits are unfair are willing to put their money where their mouth is.
Within 24 hours of Trump’s conviction, His campaign raised $53 million. Small cash donations reached an all-time high, and a third of the contributions came from first-time donors, suggesting that Trump’s conviction has spurred Americans who might not have donated otherwise to support him with their hard-earned money.
On the other hand, the Republican Party Raised over $140 million President Trump’s trial and conviction in May have produced some staggering numbers.
