Make America Great Again, a leading super PAC supporting former President Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, announced in May that it had raised about $70 million.
In a memo to donors, MAGA Inc. pledged to spend $100 million this summer on a major advertising offensive to support the presumptive Republican presidential nominee in key battleground states that will likely decide a rematch between President Trump and President Biden.
Two days before MAGA’s announcement, the Trump campaign said it and the Republican National Committee raised a staggering $141 million in May, thanks in part to the former president’s criminal conviction.
President Trump is the first former and current president in U.S. history to be convicted of all 34 felony counts at trial.

The former president’s campaign highlighted that in the first 24 hours after Thursday night’s ruling, they and the Republican National Committee raised nearly $53 million, which was added to May’s total.
MAGA has not released a breakdown of how much of its May donations were raised after Trump’s ruling, but by comparison, its May donations represent a significant increase from the $12.7 million it raised in April.
Trump’s criminal conviction sparks fundraising surge
Trump has been trying to close the fundraising gap with Biden, and in April, his campaign and the Republican National Committee outraised Biden’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee for the first time.

Taylor Budowicz, a former Trump aide and CEO of MAGA Inc., argued in the memo that the former president’s conviction has not changed the trajectory of the White House showdown.
“Joe Biden and the Democrats wanted a conviction, and for now they got it, but the fundamental political realities that motivate voters have not changed,” Budowicz wrote.
The memo focuses on the super PAC’s strategy to help Trump secure the 270 electoral votes he needs to win the White House.

Budowicz said the Biden team “needs to solidify the Blue Wall states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin while also keeping President Trump on the defensive in the Sun Belt states of Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina and Nevada. They can do that if they can maintain their coalition.”
He also argued that “Biden and the Democrats have an established financial advantage. They have spent over $135 million on television so far with little to show for it.”
The memo noted that since March, the Biden campaign has outspent MAGA Inc., the only pro-Trump super PAC currently running television ads, by three to one. But the Biden campaign and MAGA Inc. are spending roughly evenly in Pennsylvania, a state that Budowicz described as a “games-pin” that could decide the outcome of the presidential election.

He also pointed to Georgia as “President Trump’s best gateway to the White House, where he can secure his goal of 270 electoral votes.”
