The WNBA reportedly overturned Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese’s second technical foul on Wednesday, which led to Reese being ejected from Tuesday’s game against the New York Liberty.

The second technical foul came with under three minutes remaining in the game against Liberty.

Reese finished with 13 points on 3-of-12 shooting from the field in 24 minutes, along with 10 rebounds, an assist and his first career block.
Rees’ ejection left the rest of her teammates and head coach Theresa Weatherspoon perplexed.
“I tried to get an explanation but couldn’t,” Weatherspoon told reporters. Via ESPN“We don’t know right now what happened.”

Referee Major Forsberg told reporters after the game that Reese received a technical foul for “speaking disrespectfully” to the umpire and for “waving his hand to indicate he was going to leave.”
“She got two technical fouls and said something to the ref,” Sky star Marina Mabry added. “What he thought was the right call stood. For us being young in the WNBA, calm is the most important thing. You need to know the refs and how they react to things.”
According to the WNBA rule book, a player who receives seven technical fouls in a season will be suspended for one game, and any technical fouls beyond seven thereafter will result in a suspension.

Chicago Bulls star Lonzo Ball also offered to pay the fine imposed on Reese, who was fined Sunday after missing Saturday’s postgame interviews.
