Pro-Palestinian protesters occupied the office of Stanford University’s president, who was arrested and suspended.
Students from a California university occupied the office of Stanford University President Richard Thaler around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. according to To Stanford DailyUniversity officials reported that “extensive graffiti was left on sandstone buildings and pillars in the Main Quad.” NBC News.
Authorities confirmed to the media that 13 people who were in the building were arrested and that the students had been “suspended with immediate effect.”
Officials added that any senior students who took part in the protests “will not be allowed to graduate.”
“We are appalled and deeply saddened by the actions that took place on our campus early this morning,” Salah and Stanford President Jenny Martinez said in a joint statement, according to the outlet.

“We have three demands,” the protesters continue. “First, we ask that divestment be included on the agenda for the Board of Trustees meeting on June 12th and 13th. Second, we ask Stanford to disclose its investments for 2022. Finally, we ask for amnesty for all students protesting on Stanford’s campus.”
In April and early May, anti-Israel protesters began camping on various university campuses across the country to protest against the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
The protests and encampments that have descended on many university campuses, including George Washington University, UCLA, the University of Vermont and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, were inspired by the first encampment established at Columbia University on April 17.
The day after the Columbia University encampment was called off, several students were suspended, and hundreds of protesters were arrested, another encampment emerged in its place and remained there until the New York Police Department (NYPD) stormed the campus after protesters occupied university buildings.
