Who said the NIL era was all bad?
Yeah, we hear “business is business” and we see student-athletes flaunting their money, but sometimes we see the heartwarming side of name, image and likeness (NIL) money. Take the Iowa State quarterback for example. Rocco BechtFor example, he uses his own money to give back to children in Iowa.
Becht announced Wednesday that he and the “We Will Collective” will be hosting a youth football camp for kids in grades 5 through 8. The camp will be held in Perry, Iowa, on July 13. (Related: Oh No: Deion Sanders Releases a Rap Song, and It’s Seriously Terrible)
Along with other football players from Iowa State’s program, Becht plans to pay out of his own pocket for each kid who wants to attend, plus pay for lunch for everyone who attends the camp.
“The state of Iowa and our community have given me and my family so much love and we wanted to find a way to give back,” Rocco said. “Perry has been through a lot over the past year and this was a small way to show support and provide a fun day for Perry’s kids.”
We are excited to host a FREE Football Camp for all Perry School District 5th-8th graders on July 13th. We look forward to giving back and having a fun day with all the kids at Perry 🙌🏼🌪️ https://t.co/pYldm4Wz7a
