Chiefs’ BJ Thompson ‘awake and responsive’ after seizure, cardiac arrest: agent

BJ Thompson is recovering after a major health scare on Thursday.

His agent, Chris Turnage, told NFL Network that he is “awake and responsive.”

Late Thursday night, Dr. Turnage said Thompson was in stable condition and remained unconscious, so it appears that Thompson is definitely moving in the right direction.

Thompson was reportedly immediately treated by medical staff at the scene and taken away in an ambulance.

During a Kansas City charity softball game later that day, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo spoke briefly about Thompson’s status.

“Before I say anything, I’m thinking about BJ right now,” Spagnuolo said. FOX 4 Kansas City. “It was scary. I think everyone was a little scared, and I was too. But I prayed a lot. [head athletic trainer] Rick [Burkholder] And his staff did a great job.”
