Former President Donald Trump’s black male supporters are as real as “unicorns,” ABC legal analyst Sunny Hostin said Friday on ABC’s “The View.”
“I think it’s pandering. I don’t think it’s a stupid statement. I think it’s pandering to Donald Trump,” Hostin said during a panel discussion about comments made by Rep. Byron Donald (R-Fla.) about black families during the Jim Crow era.
She continued, “I thought it was interesting that it was set in a room of black Republicans. Where are they? Where are they? If you look at the statistics, 77 percent, no, 81 percent, of black men are Democrats. Black voters are consistently Democratic. Over 95 percent of black women are Democrats. So I would love to see those black men that he’s talking about. It would be like seeing a unicorn.”
Hostin added: “Sadly, Anna, and I agree, these are coming from the mouth of a black man, so if you pander to yourself, your community, your history to a disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached, convicted felon like Donald Trump, then you’re even more despicable in this country.”
