Massive anti-Israel protests erupted in front of the White House on Saturday, marking eight months since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza.

Around midday, some 30,000 pro-Hamas protesters began arriving outside the presidential palace.

Members of the Answer Coalition, one of the activist groups taking part in the mass demonstration, carried a red banner that read “2 miles long,” a reference to the “red line” that President Joe Biden allegedly passed during Israel’s invasion of Rafah.

In a post on X, the group said the banner “bears the names of more than 40,000 Palestinians who have been martyred by Israel since October 7.”

Other footage posted to social media platforms showed protesters lighting smoke bombs and throwing them onto the White House lawn.

Additionally, another post from X revealed that the statue of Andrew Jackson outside the White House had been vandalized with slogans such as “Liberate Gaza” and “Boycott Israeli products.”

A fence was erected around the White House as protesters are known to be often violent.

The fence is a second line of defense after the strong barrier that already surrounds the site.

“Additional public safety measures, including security fencing, are being taken near the White House grounds in preparation for possible large crowd events in Washington, D.C. this weekend,” a Secret Service spokesman said. The Hill.

“Biden can’t draw the line, but we can. On June 8th we will come together from across the country and surround the White House. We will wear red, raise our demands high and show the world that we are the red line,” Answer Coalition, an activist group taking part in the protests, declared on its website.

“We demand an immediate ceasefire, an immediate end to the blockade of Gaza, the release of all Palestinian prisoners, and an end to the occupation of Palestine.”

Anti-Israel protesters have strongly criticized Biden and others who have called for an end to the war and supported Israel.

Meanwhile, Democrats are preparing for large numbers of Hamas supporters to attend their annual convention in Chicago in August.
