Gunfire erupted across New York City on Saturday night, coinciding with a notable rise in summer-like temperatures.
According to the New York City Police Department, four shootings occurred overnight, six people were shot, and two of the victims died.
The deadliest explosion occurred at 10:30 p.m. at a home in South Richmond Hill, Queens.
Police said they found a 52-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound and a 27-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso at a home at the intersection of 95th Street and 11th Avenue.
Another man, 33, was found a mile away with a gunshot wound to the head and a gun next to his body.
The woman was taken to hospital in stable condition, while the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not immediately say whether the 33-year-old man was the shooter.
But the bloody night began hours earlier in East Flatbush.
Police say a 15-year-old boy was shot in the left arm outside a residence around 5:30 p.m.
Just a few miles away in Brownsville, a 58-year-old man was shot once in the left ankle at Marcus Garvey Houses just before 8:45 p.m., the NYPD said.
Both were in stable condition and were transported to a nearby hospital.
Another teenager was shot in the left elbow on the corner of West 135th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem just before 7:30 p.m., police said.
The 19-year-old victim is in stable condition and one male suspect has been taken into custody – the only person in custody that night.
All four shootings remain under investigation.
