Ex-WNBA Team Owner Kelly Loeffler Blasts WNBA Players for ‘Physically and Verbally Attacking’ Caitlin Clark

Former Atlanta Dream co-owner and former Georgia Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler slammed the WNBA for treating rising star Kaitlyn Clark poorly.

Loeffler said Clark was the “best thing” to happen to the WNBA, adding that “far from being welcomed, she has been physically and verbally attacked.” Fox News report.

The former senator commented, letter The letter was written by Indiana Republican Rep. Jim Banks, who called on WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert to reveal plans to stop bad WNBA players from assaulting Clark on the court.

“Important question. In 10 years as a WNBA team owner, I have never seen this level of hostility towards one player,” Loeffler wrote on her X account.

“Caitlin Clark might be the best thing that’s ever happened to the league. After 10 games, she’s doing better than half the veterans out there. Viewership is up. They’re on charter flights,” the Senator continued.

“Instead of being welcomed, she has been attacked both physically and verbally. They want attention, but they don’t want it from an athlete like Caitlin Clark,” Loeffler concluded.

The former politician also slammed the league for succumbing to a radical transgender agenda.

“Not only are they ignoring protections for Kaitlyn Clark, but the league still refuses to say that men can’t play in the WNBA,” she wrote, adding that “women’s empowerment and safety should not take a back seat to political social policy.”

So far, the league doesn’t seem too interested in ending the constant attacks on Clark, the latest of which was a vicious attack from behind on Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter on Saturday’s show. Rather than being banned from the game, or even the league, Carter received a light punishment, but a few days later, her violation was at least upgraded to “Aggravated Violation 1.”

Carter has yet to express any remorse for this hateful attack.

Meanwhile, Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon has dismissed Carter’s attacks, insisting that “physical play, intensity and competitiveness are the hallmarks of Chicago Sky basketball,” and cheerily exclaiming that the ferocious Carter will “learn from this.”
