Four people were injured at a rodeo in Oregon on Saturday evening when a bull jumped a fence and struck spectators during the final competition, Sisters Rodeo confirmed.
The incident happened on Saturday, June 8, just before 10pm.
A spectator in the crowd captured the horrific incident on video..
“I filmed him completely going over the gate and disappearing,” Daniel Smithers, who witnessed and recorded the incident, told KOIN 6. “Then there was a big pause in the zone where he came out, and people immediately started waving their lights again, like they didn’t really know what to do.”

Rodeo officials said the bull ran through the rodeo grounds and returned to the livestock pen.
“This is the first time anything like this has happened in the history of Sisters Rodeo. I spoke to the Scott contractor who raises this bull and they said it’s very unusual, very rare, they’ve almost never seen anything like this in their careers. They see it occasionally on their farms, in their own pens, but they’ve never seen anything like this at a rodeo. It’s very, very rare,” Sisters Rodeo Vice President Brian Witt told Fox News Digital.
According to Sisters Rodeo officials, the radio announcer immediately activated the emergency response plan.
Witt said rodeo livestock experts responded quickly to safely capture the bull and confine it to a livestock pen.

Witt added that the bull was not chasing anyone in the crowd, but had simply been startled and was trying to return to its enclosure with other livestock.
“He was just a little scared. He wasn’t trying to hit anybody. He was just trying to get back into the herd and back in the pen with the other bulls. He was outside the arena so it was a different situation for him,” Witt explained.
Witt confirmed that four people suffered minor injuries in the bull attack, adding that two of the victims were taken to a local hospital for further treatment but have since been released to return home.
“We were very fortunate that there were no additional issues. Our emergency personnel were really fantastic in terms of providing immediate care and the Cowboys were really quick to grasp what was, you know, a very volatile situation,” Witt said.
