Cleveland, Ohio, city hall will be closed on Monday following a “cyber incident,” city officials announced.
According to Fox 8, city officials said in a press release that the scope and nature of the “cyber incident” had yet to be determined, but stressed that they were “taking this incident seriously.”
The city has shut down several affected systems following the incident, but emergency services systems, including police, fire and EMS services, are expected to remain operational.

“As a precautionary measure, the City has shut down the affected systems while it focuses on safely securing and restoring services,” the statement said. “These systems will remain offline until the situation is better understood.”
In addition to the City Hall closure, the Erie View office will also be closed.
“All internal systems and software platforms will be suspended until further notice,” the statement read. “City Hall and Erie View will be closed to all but essential staff on Monday 10 June and will not operate as normal for the public.”

“We take the cyber threat extremely seriously and are working swiftly to remedy the situation as quickly as possible,” the agency said.
