Caitlin Clark mocked by Sun star DiJonai Carrington for flopping

DiJonai Carrington brought some drama to Monday’s matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Fever.

The SunGard player became a viral meme after he was seen mocking Clark’s missed foul call during the second quarter of the University of Connecticut vs. Indiana University game at Mohegan Sun Arena, which the team ultimately won 89-72.

With just under four minutes left before halftime, Carrington was called for a foul by Clark on the top of the perimeter and then began repeatedly mimicking the rookie’s flopping motion.

Clarke looked back at Carrington and appeared to say something before they parted ways.

Carrington, who finished with a season-high 22 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals, reposted footage of the moment and a meme poking fun at Clark on X.

“Oh my drama,” Carrington wrote, along with a ton of crying-laughing emojis.

The Skims model has excelled on both ends of the court and has been a strong push for the WNBA’s Most Improved Player award since being promoted from the bench to the starter a year ago.

Clark has been criticized for exaggerating and missing fouls as he adjusts to the physical intensity of the pro level.

The Sun have now won three straight games against the Fever this season, holding Clark to 10 points on 3-of-8 shooting.

At one point in the third quarter, Clark Airballed a floater shot from the free throw line And it looked like he was defeated.

The former Iowa All-American has had her fair share of welcome moments into the league, including hard fouls and trash talk.

Clark, 22, drew attention over the weekend when it was leaked that he had not been included on the list of 12 athletes who will represent the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Clark acknowledged that after receiving an invitation to a 14-player training camp in April, he received a call from a USA Basketball Association official informing him his name had not been included on the roster.

Though she missed the final camp before the Summer Olympics, she and the Hokies made it to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament, where Iowa ultimately lost to South Carolina in the national championship.

Clarke, along with Connecticut Suns’ Breonna Jones, is at the top of the list of replacements if the U.S. team needs a replacement player. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news. on monday.
