Saturday’s Yankees-Dodgers game on FOX reels in huge audience

Stars flocked to the Bronx this weekend, making it the hottest ticket in the city and on TV.

The Los Angeles Dodgers traveled east to take on the New York Yankees in a three-game series featuring teams with a combined six MVP awards.

With over 48,000 people attending each game, it was a fantastic series.

The Dodgers won the first two games, including a close 11-inning game on Friday, but the Yankees came from behind on Sunday night to prevent the sweep.

Despite Saturday night being the only dud (the Dodgers won 11-3), it still seemed like a must-see game.

FOX Sports announced Tuesday that Saturday’s “Baseball Night in America” averaged 2.9 million viewers, making it the most-watched MLB regular-season telecast on any network since Sept. 22, 2022. That game featured Aaron Judge tying Roger Maris’ AL record of 61 home runs in a 5-4 Yankees win over the Boston Red Sox.

The game was the network’s most-watched regular-season Saturday game since June 30, 2018, when Boston beat the Bombers 11-0.

It wasn’t a good night for the Yankees, as Teoscar Hernandez hit two home runs, including a game-winning grand slam in the eighth inning.

Saturday’s game also saw a Dodgers fan takeover, with 5,000 members of Pantone 294, a fan club named after the colors of the Dodgers’ logo, packing Yankee Stadium.
