Travis Kelce wants to get into broadcasting after NFL career ends

Travis Kelce has no plans to retreat from the spotlight after his NFL career ends.

In his latest film with his brother Jason Kelsey, “New Heights” PodcastThe Chiefs tight end explained that he wants to be an “outspoken figure” in the sports world when he eventually hangs up his uniform for good.

The brothers joked that they would probably never be able to afford a minority stake in an NFL team, and Travis said he would like to buy a minority stake in the Chiefs if the opportunity arose after he retires.

After announcing his retirement from the NFL in March, Jason added that he plans to give up the multi-year broadcast deal with ESPN he agreed to in May and become a minority owner of the Eagles.

Travis, an All-Pro NFL player, did not elaborate on his future plans as he is attending Chiefs minicamp this week ahead of his 12th NFL season.

A week after Jason joined ESPN, Travis agreed to a contract extension with the Chiefs, becoming the highest-paid tight end in the NFL.

According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, the contract adds two years to his current signing bonus of $34.25 million.

When Travis decides to end his career at the professional level, he seems poised to make an easy transition into the world of broadcasting.

Travis also signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) last spring to pursue further acting work.
