So that’s how Game 2 began. Doncic is thriving despite his physical struggles. Jayson Tatum has yet to make an impact. Remember, these are the people on TV declaring that if Tatum doesn’t lead the Celtics to an NBA championship, kids across the country should take down their posters of him and put up posters of Aaron Jones.

As far as I can tell, the Mavericks are slightly favored for tonight’s home game, with the spread at 1.5, 2.5 or 3.5 points, and the Mavericks are even or -145 to win, and the Celtics are -120, but the moneyline is +125.

The world is probably running out of jokes about the length of the NBA playoffs by now, but I’ll see if I can come up with some more.
“After a long hiatus, can the NBA compete with America’s newfound love for cricket?”
“This schedule leaves too many breaks, so all the players who only went to college for one year are now getting their PhDs.”
“Anyone who remembers the NBA regular season would be receiving Social Security by now.”
Anyway, kickoff time for the game is apparently 8:30pm ET. What can we talk about until then?
Bo will be here shortly. In the meantime, I’ll give you some injury news for tonight’s game.
Kristaps Porzingis has not played a game for Dallas since being traded to the Mavericks two years ago, and it is unclear whether he will play in Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.
Porzingis has a rare injury to the tendons in his lower left leg that occurred in the third quarter of Boston’s 105-98 win to take a 2-0 series lead. The team said Tuesday that his condition is day-to-day and that Porzingis will be fully prepared to play Wednesday night.
When asked if it was a pain tolerance issue or if it could cause further damage, Porzingis said he didn’t know the details.
“I’m going to leave it up to the medical staff to see if I can play,” he said. “Unless they say I can’t play or I’m not allowed to play, there’s nothing stopping me. That’s the only reason I won’t play.”
The 7-foot-2 Latvian center suffered a tear in the tissue that holds a tendon in place. The Celtics announced the injury was unrelated to the right calf strain that caused him to miss 10 straight playoff games before the NBA Finals began last Thursday.
