UFC fighter Sean Strickland posted a video of himself being waterboarded to X, saying he just wanted to know what it felt like.
Middleweight contender Strickland responded to the bet with actions and not just words, accepting a bet from the person who appears to be the one who posted the video, saying that even as a child he never thought this type of torture was “that awful.”
The definition of waterboarding is Cambridge The dictionary defines it as “a form of torture in which a person is held face up and large amounts of water are poured over their face, giving them the sensation of drowning,” and it is believed that “they cannot breathe and die.”
“As a kid I thought, ‘I want to know what waterboarding feels like, it can’t be that awful,'” Strickland wrote to X. “I can safely say it was one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced lol.”
Attached was a 12-second video showing Strickland lying shirtless on the floor next to an oven while an unidentified person used what appeared to be the nozzle of a garden hose to spray water on Strickland’s face, who was wearing a T-shirt over his head, while the fighter’s hands were restrained in makeshift handcuffs.
The would-be torturer continued to pour water in Strickland’s face and then put his hands around the 185-pound fighter’s neck, holding his head down.

Strickland remained on his account after posting the video to answer a few questions from fans, the first of which came just a minute after the footage was posted online.
“You’d think a YouTuber like Steven Crowder would say, ‘This is [not] That’s awful” [it’s] Because you weren’t.”
“Shawn, why did you do this? This is tough,” one viewer said. Asked.
“You might think, ‘When the water stops, I’ll just take a quick breath and then take a deep breath,’ but in reality, you’re 100% drowning…” Strickland Reply.
“Why don’t you just hold your breath for a second?” asked another viewer.
“You’ve got to breathe at some point,” Strickland said. answered.
After another viewer noted, “When the fabric gets wet, you basically can’t breathe without inhaling water,” Strickland called out YouTubers, specifically Steven Crowder, saying they were clearly not being properly waterboarded.
“Yeah… no [matter what] I can’t breathe… It’s the worst… I’ve heard YouTubers like Steven Crowder say, [not] That’s awful [it’s] Because I wasn’t waterboarded (laughs).
