Henry Winkler says firefighters in Dublin, Ireland, have given him “happy days.”
A fire broke out at Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel on Wednesday morning, with guests telling local broadcaster RTE News that they first heard the fire alarm at 10.30am, with firefighters reportedly arriving shortly after.
Winkler told the outlet that when he first heard the alarm he couldn’t believe there was a fire.

“When we heard the fire alarm, we thought it was a radio alarm clock, and assumed someone had set it before we got there,” Winkler said. “We ended up going to another room, but it was still ringing, so we called downstairs, and a woman in a very calm voice said, ‘Yes, everyone is evacuating. You need to evacuate now!’ So I left.”
