Dan Patrick will go down in history as one of the most prolific announcers in ESPN history.
He co-hosted “SportsCenter” with Keith Olbermann throughout the 1990s, and the two later joined forces at NBC.
The two will forever be linked together even after their reign at ESPN.
Olbermann worked for ESPN on and off until 2018 and now hosts his own political podcast, while Patrick remains a sports show host.

Patrick added that their careers and relationships have diverged since they last aired together, and they didn’t have much contact while they were colleagues.
But Patrick still speaks highly of his former colleague.
“I still have a lot of respect for him. He’s the best teammate I’ve ever worked with on ‘SportsCenter.’ He really mastered it. He was a great guy,” Patrick said. Dan Dakich of OutKick.
Patrick says executives at his own network didn’t want them to succeed.

“You have to understand that management at the time didn’t want us to succeed the way we did. As one of my bosses infamously said, ‘We [Chris] “Berman was like, ‘Chris got too big and he ran away,'” Patrick said.
“So they wanted the four letters to matter, not us. I remember Keith being of the mindset, ‘Who cares about those guys? Let’s have some fun with this.’ We got yelled at a few times, we got dragged into a few meetings. They didn’t buy it.”
“Because those four letters are more important than any other talent and they wanted that to be known. We were doing something different, we were changing SportsCenter a little bit and they just weren’t receptive to it, so it was pretty humiliating.”
“To this day, my old bosses still give credit to Bob Rae and Chris Berman for changing ‘SportsCenter’ or whatever, instead of Keith and me. That’s fine. I know that’s not true, but it’s kind of sad that they still won’t acknowledge what we did.”
