Thousands of protesters marched in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday, calling for a safer city in the wake of the killings. general Hospital Family members of actor Johnny Wactor, who was shot and killed on May 25, also expressed anger and frustration at the lack of progress in the case.
No arrests have been made since Wachter was shot and killed by assailants trying to steal catalytic converters from his car, and authorities have not named any suspects.
The 37-year-old actor had just finished a late-night bartending shift when he spotted a group of thieves near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Hope Street near downtown, and when he tried to stop them, one of the thieves pulled out a gun and shot the actor, killing him.
On Wednesday, protesters took to the steps of Los Angeles City Hall, chanting “justice” for the slain actor. Demonstrators included Wachter’s co-stars on ABC. general HospitalFour men, including actor Parry Shen, were arrested and among their demands was a city reward of at least $25,000 for information leading to their arrests.

“I urge anyone with information to come forward,” Micah Parker, a friend of Wachter’s, said Wednesday, according to a KCAL news report.
“The second goal is to shine a light on the systemic crisis of violence and crime that is happening in Los Angeles. We are working with city leaders, the mayor, [district attorney]”I hope the city council will at least acknowledge there is a problem, address it and move forward with making our roads safer.”
The search continues for the killer of “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor, who was tragically shot and killed in Downtown Los Angeles.

Crime has skyrocketed in Democratic-majority Los Angeles in recent years, largely due to the widespread decriminalization of crimes by soft-on-crime District Attorney George Gascón (Democrat).
Violent crime in Los Angeles increased 2.9% in March compared to March 2023, while robberies jumped 9.5%, according to Fox 11. reportMurders also increased by more than 28 percent in 2024 compared to the same period last year.
In 2020, the Los Angeles City Council voted to cut the Los Angeles Police Department budget by $150 million in order to appease police budget cut activists and protesters.
